If you have been thinking about designing your own templates, look no further than this one week template class! We spend a week exploring Illustrator as a practical tool for a designer. This class may as well be called Illustrator 3 because we cover techniques necessary as a designer.
We build multiple scrapbooking templates in Illustrator as well learn the secrets of great shape building (think bracket shapes, banners, and ornate shapes) to create logos and elements. We also design organizational templates, pattern templates, and learn to distress templates in Illustrator! I incorporate design theory into the class to help you build beautiful templates every time.
This class is packed with step-by-step lessons, design theory, and practical applications that put me right there beside you as you get started. These are the techniques that will help you develop an eye for cohesive design while helping you learn how to step up your ability to design.
Techniques taught in this course are useful for designers who are interested in building or selling their own scrapbooking templates, logos, digital elements, digital diecutting shapes, and paper stickers. This class is the building block to creating strong designs.
MORE ABOUT THIS COURSE
This is the first time I have taught a course like this online. I taught a lesson on shape building in a workshop once and realized that many designers don't know how to build their own shapes from the simple tools they have in Illustrator. This course is meant to enable designers to create their own interesting and unique shapes and templates. The scrapbooking templates help solidify a designer's eye for alignment and balance. So whether you plan on selling templates or just being a better designer, this class will open your eyes to good design.
This course is a jam-packed five days. Lessons are 25-40 minutes long everyday. Lessons are taught via video and class notes. Videos are broken into 10-15 minute segments to help you watch and practice the lessons in manageable portions. If you are unable to do the course during the scheduled time, the class is available for the life of CarinaGardner.com and can be taken self-paced.
